Surfing America, the national governing body for surfing in the USA, is proud to bring the 7th annual Surfing America USA Championships to the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier, CA, June 19-21st, and Lower Trestles, San Onofre State Park, CA, June 23-28, 2010.

Format: 4 man, 20 minute heats, ASP Judging
The Surfing America USA Championships decides the undisputed USA Surfing champions by pooling pre-qualified athletes from the top amateur organizations in the United States. Invited athletes represent one or more of the following:
Hawaii Surfing Association (HSA)
National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA)
Western Surfing Association (WSA)
Surfing America Prime Series
Surfing America Wildcards (includes East Coast and Texas Gulf competitors)
At the conclusion of Monday’s finals top athletes in Under 18 Boys, Under 16 Boys, and Under 18 Girls will be named to the 2011 PacSun USA Surf Team which will compete for the United States in the 2011 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships.

Per United States Olympic Committee guidelines, all competing athletes are United States citizens. Thousands of amateur surfers from California, Hawaii, Texas, and East Coast states competed in local contests and regional championship events in order to qualify as the nation’s best and reach this pinnacle.
